"You are who you are...no matter where I am"

"Praise You In This Storm" by Casting Crowns
I was sure by now God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining
As the thunder rollsI barely hear Your whisper through the rain"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes awayAnd I'll praise You in this stormAnd I will lift my hands
For You are who You are No matter where I am And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand You never left my side And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone How can I carry on If I can't find You
But as the thunder rolls I barely hear You whisper through the rain"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls I raise my hands and praise the God who gives And takes away

And I'll praise You in this storm And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried You hold in Your hand
You never left my side And though my heart is torn I will praise You in this storm

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

Aren't the words of this song the Best? This has been such a trying week for my household and this song has given me great comfort and a great reminder that....I will praise him in the Storms.
I hope that you and your families are staying healthy. Zane started the stomach flu this afternoon. I'm praying for all of us to fight off the yuck... Keep those hands washed and take your vitamin c!!!!!!

Painting

Well, today it's official, my living, dining rooms, kitchen and hallways are finished getting a fresh coat of paint. My DEAR neighbor, Russell Bradbury(Bradbury Painting) did it for us and it looks awesome! I took some pics but not sure that they really show the color well. In the picture, it doesn't look a lot different than before it was painted, but it is a darker color, It's called Suede and I love it. It's very warm looking. My dear cousin, Jennifer and my friend Lisa are coming over to help me put things back on my walls. They both have that knack/eye for grouping things, etc. That should be fun.
This picture is my freshly painted cabinets that I did myself and it was a hard job. Yuk, but so happy with the finished project! New countertops and my kitchen will have been transformed! Anyway...you can't really appreciate the paint color in the pics. Oh well. It does look nice.
I don't think I've mentioned my newest read.....Quiet Strength, the Tony Dungy story. HIGHLY recommend it, especially if you love football. He is a true Christian and a Class Act Gentleman. I've so enjoyed reading this book. I'm almost done and a bit sad! Well, need to get my teeth brushed, face washed and crawl into my nice flannel sheets. I'm tired tonite.

Have an awesome weekend!

Snow.Snow.Snow.

I can't believe all the snow we've had this winter! It's so beautiful, but I'm done being cold. What a day today was. Very eventful with not so fun stuff, but it's all going to be ok. I'm pretty tired tonite, actually my brain is pretty tired! Thank you to my dear friends who have prayed for me today...I could feel it!

Sledding

The boys and I went sledding at "The Big Hill" by our house. It's so close and never anyone else there, we love it. We had so much fun...We took Angel and she had a ball just running around and rolling in the snow and racing us down the hill. It was a beautiful day, sunny and no wind. Wow, what a nice change. Tomorrow is SuperBowl Sunday, can't believe it's the end of football season. That makes our household very sad. We do love football here. This year, due to my motherly/wifely duties I watched hardly any football, I feel so cheated! We are headed to a friends house for a Cajun Boil/Super Bowl party. Sounds like fun huh? I'm excited. Of course I'm thinking that there is going to be some Awesome food there. I guess I'm going to have to be a Giants fan tomorrow....I'm kind of tired of hearing about the Pats. I was really sad the Packers got beat.

It's Fixed!

Praise the Lord! I did not have to purchase a new washing machine......yet.....They were able to fix it with a $15 part, I know the labor is triple that but it's fixed and for under a $100 and I'm Sooooooooooo happy! WhooHoo! I'll probably wear out something else on it just trying to catch up what's been sittin since Sunday! I must admit that my day didn't finish up so hot. I had bought my folks some firewood today at the sale and they were not able to come up and get it. I just loaded into our pickup and decided I would take it to them tonite, so Cutter and I head to WIS to pick up Zane and I get stopped on 9th & Cherry by Johnny Law....I'm thinkin I have done nothing wrong here....what's up? Well, he gets up to the window and proceeds to let me know that my right rear brake light is OUT and he wanted me to know that! I graciously thanked him and breathed a sigh of relief! I never looked into the back seat, but I'll bet my next paycheck that Cutter's eyes were as big as half dollars! Anyway, pick up Zane and the boys and I head for South Haven around 4 pm and we're just about to my folks house and I meet a string of about 3-4 cars and it sounded like a gun went off....nice rock into the dead center of the windshield! Not a star, not a nick a 2" "c" is cut right into it. I could not believe it! The boys are saying, "dad's gonna be mad" I'm thinkin, I didn't go looking for a rock! Oh well, all is good.

Well, I wonder if we are really going to get the nasty snowstorm they are predicting? Who knows. I just got home from church and it's still 44 out. But this is Kansas.

Please continue to pray for my grandparents. My grandma is home and is a bit better, Grandpa is Not any better, in fact worse, lungs have more fluid in them than they did. They have changed some meds and hope to see improvement, bottom line.....he may not get better. I'm ok with that as long as he is not suffering. That is worse than death to me. Keep warm and safe....

Aahh......Monday

Monday's got a bad rap.....why is that? Well, let me think a minute. Started out my day with an hour long meeting, which in turn put me at work 1 hour late, had a "To Do" List that began on Sunday night and first on the list was...Call repairman about my washer....yep, you heard me, the washing machine. Might as well be out of groceries. Oh well, I bought a new washer when Cutter was born, 8 years ago and have had this one worked on 2-3 times. Most recently 7-8 months ago and they proceeded to tell me how it's about done for. The soonest they can come is Wednesday a.m. Ok, we all have enough undies to get by until then, it's all good. But....what if it's ridiculous to fix it? what if I need to buy a new one? Well, I went down to my friendly little Sears store here in Winfield just to get over the "sticker shock" of a new one and do a little research in the event that's where I'm headed. Oh Boy.....Can you say, "hope there is a tax refund in my future?????" I've almost felt guilty sittin around the house tonite, no laundry to fold, etc. Never mind I could be trying to wring out the load that's sittin in my washer right now--won't drain, spin, just makes a horrible noise!

I started out my day very cranky and decided I hated that feeling and was mad at myself for getting that way. Life's too short and God is always Good! Both of my Grandparents are in the Hospital. One with pnemonia and one with the influenza, emphesyma, etc. Grandma was better today and may go home tomorrow, Grandpa, not so good. She's 91 and he's 97....Pray for them and my mom as she is running herself ragged!

Friday night was fun.....my dear friend, Dana and I took a spur of the moment trip to Ponca City. She was without her kids, I dropped the boys off in Newkirk at my sister's house and off we went. Went to the bookstore, had a blast in there looking for books. We both love to read so that was fun and then off to Hobby Lobby for the 1/2 price sticker sale for scrapbooking. After that we went to Chili's and had appetizers and talked. Something we haven't got to do much of lately. It was a good evening. Thanks Dana for going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please continue to pray for my church as we prepare for a new minister. I know that God is preparing someone awesome for us and I pray that we can be awesome for our new pastor.
