Happenings

Bill Barwick(cowboy singer) on Stage 2

Our Camp on Sunday before Bluegrass, our
friends of northern KS-a/k/a
"The Yellow Canoe Camp" came and
entertained us with their fabulous music!

Our camp as we pull in from Land Rush...

Our Camp entrance at night...not a great pic
but you get the idea.

Entrance to our camp after set up is completed!
We are the "Stumble Inn Camp" There are lots
of "themed" camps at Bluegrass and you could
spend a whole day walking around and looking
at them all. It's a lot of fun to see what people
do...it's taken pretty serious actually!
Well, let me back up the the beginning of September. Here in our town we host the Walnut Valley Festival--a/k/a "Bluegrass" if your a local, this was the 38th year. We(JB and I) have just completed our 13th Bluegrass Festival and let me tell ya...it's somethin. I LOVE IT! If you love music...you would love this. There are soooooo many talented people that you can hear, most of them not famous and maybe never will be, many are famous and many will be famous some day. It's a weekend of camping, socializing, good food, singing, playing music, listening to music and meeting new friends. So. To get your prime camping spot they have a "LAND RUSH" a week before the festival begins and it's quite the ordeal. At this point, JB is having quite a bit of pain with his back and not moving around well...we take off to the fairgrounds the morning of Land Rush to get all ready to go...he is just progressively getting worse the longer we're there...it's about 6 am and the Rush begins at 7am...I get the camper hooked up and I end up having to pull the camper in Land Rush while DH is sitting uncomfortably in the passenger seat giving orders.....I just wanted to ride along and take pics...oh no, let's throw Les in the drivers seat, pulling a 5th wheel for the first time with her 800 new best friends....what the heck???? It all worked out...I didn't tear up anything, take any corners too sharp and Praise the Lord...didn't have to do any fancy backing up!!! I even snuck a few pics while I was driving. All was good...got camp set up and enjoyed it the best I could while my DH was home in bed...wishing he felt like joining us.

My mom headed into camp

The camper on the left is ours...you can hardly
see the pickup..it's EARLY!

My f-i-l and his wife and friends who are
helping all of us get set up...my f-i-l was first
to the site!

Me Driving! Ha ha ha Justin is saying...
"put the camera down"

What the Heck Happened...

to the month of September??? If anyone knows, please let me know ASAP.
I don't even know where to begin. Our household is in chaos mode...DH is completely DOWN with his back...going over 2 weeks now...hasn't been able to work and is home holding down the bed most of the time...took him to the specialist...couldn't even get in for surgery for almost 3 weeks...scheduled for Oct 2nd. Hoping for a cancellation, but none yet. Please keep him in prayer as he is just miserable...and bummed!

Lost a very dear family friend Tuesday night...she had been through a lot and has gone home to be with the Lord. Please keep her family in prayer.

Had a great time at Bluegrass this year...even though it was the boys and I only...JB couldn't make it...it wasn't quite the same but heard awesome music and had a pretty good time.

Well, I hope to get some pics posted soon. I gotta run, somewhere to be in about 30 mins and I need to make sure my boys have their homework started...miss my blogging friends a lot! Life must slow down a bit...I'm not doing so well with the whirlwind ride!!! Have a blessed week.

I'm Back

My nephew, Rance

Little Brother Ben

ZB first day of 7th grade

My 2 sweet boys....don't they just
look thrilled?! ha ha I ALWAYS
take a first day of school and last day
of school picture...love seeing how
they change over the school year.
They think it's "dumb", and I do
quote them.

CB first day of 4th grade

No, I can't say that I've been on any glamorous vacation or anything very exciting...just living life and watching it go way too fast for me. WOW...It has been a wonderful summer for the most part...my boys just started school yesterday~2 weeks later than normal. That was ok with me...and them. I'm always ready for the break from school and always glad to return to some structure and routine. I do much better with that. I might even be able to blog!

So how has everyone been? Or do I even have any readers left? Gosh I hope so, I have sooooo missed my blogger buddies and meeting new buddies too. I just can't believe how it has taken the back seat in my life! ha ha

I must ask for prayer for my DH...he is really having trouble with his lower back...he has had 2 injections and is scheduled for the 3rd next Tuesday. He seems worse after the 2nd one...needless to say, it has really put a damper on his summer...he came home from vacation at Tablerock Lake like this(end of June) and has gotten worse since. He's frustrated, I'm frustrated...yada yada yada.

I think both boys are adjusting to school...it's only the 2nd day, but all seems to be going well thus far and for that I'm thankful!

My goal is to get back to at least one post per week and hopefully more. I'm trying to spend more time studying my Bible and less time "wasted", not that I think Blog time is a waste! I just am trying to use my time more wisely. God gave me that awhile back... when I was complaining about "never having time to do anything...if I could just quit my job...blah blah blah", he said....use your time wisely...it's that simple and I have not been! So, I'm working on that. So bear with me...I love visiting your blogs and I LOVE hearing from my readers.

I pray that everyone who reads this has a wonderful and blessed week...

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.
