Beautiful Day!

I hope that everyone got to enjoy today as much as I did. It was the perfect Spring day here in Kansas. Hardly any wind....sunshine and warm! I had the best day. Sporting my first sunburn of the year as well, talk about pink arms! Wow! I did several things today, none of which involved cleaning the house or doing any laundry to speak of. Maybe that's why it was such a banner day! ha ha I bought some tomato plants, pepper plants, basil and some creeping phlox and got them all planted today. It was so nice to dig around in the dirt and just enjoy the outside. I do miss the days of NOT working a 8-5 job, being home, being much more organized than I am now. Maybe that's God's plan for me....eventually. I sure would like that.

I worked at the sheep pen today...cleaning feeders, water troughs, etc. We had a fungus problem last year so we had to bleach everything this year. Justin did the barn a few weeks ago, I got everything else today. We get our lambs tomorrow. Looking forward to it--pics to come.

Next weekend is the Midwest Longhorn Sale here in Winfield at the Sale Barn. It's amazing to me the money that is spent on such poor quality cattle! But...I must admit, if I had the money??? I could be in the business. They are cool and I so enjoy seeing them. If you're in the area--drive by the sale barn next Friday or Saturday. There will be about 100 hd of registered longhorns we will sell on Saturday. I'll get some pics and post of that as well. I may actually have a few from years past to post now.

The moon is full tonite and if you get the chance...take a look. Just beautiful. Great ending to a beautiful day. Thank you God for all the beautiful things on this earth you have graciously shared and may be always be thankful and appreciative of the little things!

Camper for Sale

When I get my camera back from mom...I'll post pics of her camper. She is selling it because she bought a different/newer one. Pretty nice, nothing fancy but clean. If you or anyone you know is interested, please let me know and I'll get you my mom's number.

Sunday

Well, no new pics to post...my mom has my camera and I haven't gotten it back yet. Things have been kind of crazy...have I said that before?!?!?!?!?
My grandpa passed away early yesterday a.m. at the age of 97. He passed away very peacefully which answered many prayers. My grandma(the one that had the bday last weekend) is so lonesome and my heart breaks for her. We went to see her today and she was Remarkable! She looked wonderful and is showing her strong character....as always! I must say....My Grandma Dell...ROCKS! I truly come from good stuff and for that I am forever grateful. Grandma asked me to sing at the funeral. I don't do live performances at funerals...I'm entirely TOO emotional for that. So I've recorded 3 songs for them to play...had a major party foul this evening with the tape....the tape player ate it, yes I said ATE IT! I have an awesome friend at church that is totally tech saavy and is going to help me re-record tomorrow night! AAAHHH! I'll be singing I Can Only Imagine, One Day at a Time and How Great Thou Art. Say a prayer for me as I do this again....

a few more pics....

Grandma's 91st Birthday

What a great day. We had a picnic/cookout today for my Grandma Birdell's Birthday and had a great time. She looked beautiful and had a ball, she had lots of family and several of her friends(of 60yrs) there to celebrate with her. We couldn't have asked for a better day to enjoy outside either. She was thrilled with her party. I love you Grandma!!

Wilmore Opry at Medicine Lodge

What a fun evening...mom and I went to Medicine Lodge last night to sing at the Wilmore Opry. Mom played in the band and I got to sing. It was nice and they had a nice crowd there. Here's a few pics from it...they turned out a bit dark. Tried to tweak them but....anyway. I had forgotten how much fun it is to sing with a live band---makes we want to get in a band again. But then I bring myself back to the real world of...being a mom, cook, chauffer, secretary, jack of all trades, etc and then the thought is gone!

The band was.....Daryl Schiff, Gene Winter, Randy Parks, Vic Erickson, Rick Schiff and Mom.

Great Day

We've had a great day today! The boys came home from my folks around noon...we had some dinner and took off for the sale barn, the boys thought they ought to throw in a fishing line and check out the situation. Justin and I fed cattle, then we finished cleaning up trees that had been cut down. Angel had a great time running in the pasture. We're home, cooking some supper and it's a great feeling to all be home and not be rushing anywhere! Sharing a few pics from our day.

Have a Blessed Easter. Praise the Lord, Jesus is ALIVE!
