A Good Word and Lots of Pictures

Good Friday Morning to All my Followers/Readers!  I hope you are heading into a GREAT weekend.  I have lots of pics to share but first...a good word for you~and me :)

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  Colossians 3:2

What a great reminder...the things here on earth are exactly that...just things.  They continue to cause us to miss out on many blessings God has for us.  Let us seek HIM and be BLESSED and lay aside our worries about the things of the world.  Have a Blessing Filled Weekend Friends!!

Oh Me Oh My

I have so much to say and many pics to share...WARNING!  This could end up being a HUGE, rambling, picture extravaganza!

Hubby:  Doing G*R*E*A*T!  Praise God for that..today has been 4 wks since surgery.  He saw the Dr last week and got a good report-he also got his "bone stimulator".  It's a very simplistic piece that cost as much as a car.  Anywhoo...it promotes bone growth and stimulates red blood cells...the recovery rate of people wearing it = 92%.  Recovery rate of people that don't = 67%.  Thank God our insurance covered it.  He wears it 4 hours a day for 6-9 months.  He is finding it to be more of a hassle than the back brace he has to wear all the time.  He has gone to work 3 days this week---I would say he's overdone it...he disagreed...until tonite.  He's flat out exhausted and doesn't feel too great.  He will figure it out...eventually :)

Oldest Son ZB:  Doing great too!  About to become a 13 yr old on Monday(sniff, sniff) Mom is a bit sentimental and struggling that my firstborn is growing up way too fast.  He's been working alot since school got out...helping out at the Sale Barn, helping Grandpa John at his new farm and helping me out as well.  Getting his lambs ready for the first show...day after tomorrow.

Youngest CB:  Doing great, still my little buddy...gives me lots of hugs lately and I love it!  Working with his sheep and also helping out at the barn and at Grandpa's.  He's actually helped Grandpa John ALOT.  Grandpa says he's working hard.  He hates being the youngest...he claims "it's not ever fair".  Life is hard isn't it?  :)

Me:  Well, I'm still running like a wild woman~enjoying the fact that my husband is gaining every day and getting back to his ol' onrey self...even though being on the receiving end of that is not always a funny for me (lol).  Loving my boys and lovin watching them grow into young men.  Wishing at times I had more hours in the day~taking care of my flowers, garden, yard and just life in general.

So thankful that the life I live is VERY BLESSED.

I also want to update you on my cousin's daughter, KINSEY.  She is home~FINALLY~ and so happy to be there.  She does NOT have leukemia, PRAISE GOD.  She did have osteomyelitis(bone infection) in her heel, it's still healing, but she is gaining.  I want you all to know that Kelli(mom) was overwhelmed with the power of prayer for her sweet baby girl.  She was so thankful.  And so was I.

Well, I must post pics now...have a wonderful and blessed weekend.  Remember to give thanks in all circumstances and no matter what your situation is.....GOD is BIGGER than any of it.

I'm still here-I think?!

Crazy Kansas sunset/bank cloud.  Thought it looked
pretty cool.

CB and I went to my Aunt and Uncle's on Sunday to do
a little fishing and just hang out.  I like this silhouette
picture I got...we're sitting on the dock at the pond.

CB and his cousin, Piper.  They have a blast together.
She loves to play, get dirty and they get along great.

Well, so much for keeping up and reading up on the blog(s).  First, I want to thank all of you that lifted my family and I up in prayer the last several weeks and months.  JB is 12 days post-op and doing ok.  Had a rough weekend, some low grade fever, body aches and just didn't feel good that went into muscle spasms in his low back and legs.  Trying some different medicine beginning tonite and he seems to be doing better today.  Thank you Lord.

My beautiful Grandma Birdell, age 93
We had a party for her with cake, ice cream, music,
lots of family and fun.

I treated myself to a Mothers Day present and have felt a little guilty since.  But...I have it and I won't return it...I ended up with a new camera.  I am sporting a Canon Rebel XS around my neck.  So far I think I like it...but honestly, I've not got to use it a lot yet and learn much...been very busy and the weather has been so BLAH that great pics have been few and far between.  Totally shooting in AUTO at the moment and need to take time to get my book, sit down and play with the manual settings.  Would love for my "local" blogger buddies to give a little class on it...may get one talked into it yet!  :)

CB at his music program, he looks
so thrilled doesn't he? :)

ZB at his Choir program.  It was great.  He
was a little more excited than his brother
but I do mean "a little".

Then there is this sweet, little angel, Kinsey.
She is the one I posted about for prayers
She is a cousin-lives in GA-has been in the
Children's Hospital for over 3 wks.
As of tonite...they are still not
exactly sure what her diagnoses is, but they will be
doing a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow a.m. to rule
out leukemia.
Please continue to keep her and her family in prayer.

Have a wonderful week.  Give thanks to the Lord
for he is GOOD.

Update

Well, I'm home, without my hubby.  Surgery went well, but the recouperation from the anesthesia has been rough.  It's only been 48 hours since surgery so it's not abnormal, I just had higher hopes :)

I came home this evening...a little reluctantly, but needed to see my boys and get some sleep...He's in good hands in the hospital and pretty groggy...he keeps babbling silly things and I'm laughing a lot!  He asked the nurse(in a sleepy, thick tongued lingo) "is the Micotil on the top shelf?"  She got the funniest look on her face...I laughed and said, never mind, it's cattle medicine!!!  I could tell she thought that was weird--that made me laugh even more.

Hope to bring him home tomorrow...we shall see.  I'm expecting a great improvement when I get there tomorrow morning.  I must say, his incision is bigger than I expected...he's sporting a nice
8 inch scar....wow.  No wonder he says his stomach hurts.

Thanks sooooooo much for all the prayers, thoughts and concerns.  It's those things that bring people thru difficult times and I'm very blessed to have wonderful family and friends , near and far to bring me thru.  THANK YOU ALL!!!  Will keep you posted...as I can.

The Joy of the Lord is my Strength :)

ATTENTION PLEASE

Asking all fellow prayer warriors to join together...

My hubby will be having his back surgery on Thursday, May 6th.  Asking for prayers for his Dr's, all nurses, etc that will be helping him.  Prayers for peace for JB...he's a bit anxious about this but yet ready.  I'm certainly ready for my husband to get back to "normal".  It's been a very looonnnnggg year in our home.  We have a very good feeling about this surgery...the dr doing it, etc, BUT...it's still surgery and it's going to be a more invasive surgery...they will be going thru his abdomen to get to his back...he will have a nice big vertical scar to show afterwards.  I know that's exciting.{smile}  Anyway...I would APPRECIATE all prayers...I know how the power of prayer works and it's like NOTHING else.

I hope to be home and reading up on all my followers/blogger buddies very soon, my life has been a bit chaotic and time to myself or time to spare has been ZERO

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.  1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (NKJV)
