It's Friday!

Wow...I'm on a serious time crunch. 2 weeks from today is our County Fair and we have much to do to get ready! I get this same "jazzed up feeling" every year at this time. After the fair each year, I'm so quick to say"next year I'm going to be more organized!" WHATEVER!?!?!?!?I really need to stop wasting good breath for that phrase! I suppose it just wouldn't be the same if I were organized, it would take all the excitement out...notice I said I was the one feeling this way, not my husband or my boys. I started thinking last night of all the food I need to get cooked up and into the freezer, art projects to be put onto foamboard, photographs to be chosen(BTW the one above of the purple flowers is one of CB's for the fair)sheep that need a diet and excercise and sheep that need FULL feed and all of them need work with just being shown...but it's this way every year and I remind myself that and it always is fine by fair time. I remember very well the excitement of the county fair and getting my livestock ready and how much fun it was to spend with friends. I know my boys are enjoying that same thing only at an earlier age as I was not a 4-Her....

After reading Ranch Wife's blog....hearing about her "alone" time I got to thinking about what I would do if my guys were gone for a few days....definitely Scrapbooking would be on the top of the list. I just love to do it and never have the time to drag out my stuff and work on it...I always imagine that if I had it out all the time somewhere, I would work on it. Maybe not, who knows. A good read would be on the top of the list as well.....nothing better than a book and some water to float on...soaking up the sun!

I received all the paperwork to fill out to get the boys into school....holy cow, I do not like paperwork. I deal with that at work all day and I don't like working on it at home. School starts on August 15th....very soon. My boys are so NOT ready.

I have a serious goal for this Fall....FAMILY PICS. I want to get pics of my immediate family and also of my folks, sister and her family. It's been almost 6 yrs and it needs to be done. Don't really even want to think about it until at least Sept. but I sure want it done.

I have a haircut today and a color....I went with blonde highlights and love it....hate the dark roots coming in, I used to be a blonde....now I'm becoming mousey brown with splashes of gray! Doesn't that sound awesome? Almost could name hair color after that it sounds so good....NOT! I am almost feeling a serious WHIM coming on...maybe a haircut too! I haven't done anything fun with my hair in so long....it's so curly and I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lazy about fixing my hair in the a.m. Anyone that knows me, knows I love to wash, gel and fluff and GO......I have the wild hair look and I don't know if I would be happy after a few weeks of having to get up and use a hair dryer and hairspray...whew...sounds like high maintenence for me!

Well, time for another cup of coffee before the shower....I'm getting around lazily this a.m. Went for my usual walk at 530 but we returned early....started raining..of course it quit by the time we got back home, just nice and HUMID out there...felt like someone wrapped a hot, wet towel around me YUK! Have a good weekend.........

Oh, the fair! I loved fair time, my parents probably felt like you do! One of my favorite parts of fair was the nights, after the animals were taken care of - we always had a carnival - we could go run around and have fun. Sale day was the worst - I usually cried because I loved my animals. That always made the price go up. Our youngest has no interest in 4H and only likes welding/mechanics in FFA, so we are out of the fair loop. Have a blessed day.

Oh fair time....I have a love hate relationship with the fair. Our kids showed goats for years...I love goats...goats are funny...but the 50 mile drive one way everyday, sometimes twice a day got old pretty fast. When the older kids started driving it was great! NOw that I they don't show anymore, got burned out and to old, we have a 9 year old that may or may not want to show. Aww the night before the fair crafting marathon! What memories! It was fun for the most part.
Hair, oh my, curly hair, oh my. I feel your pain. Mine is...unruly at best, wild when the humidity rises at worst. And I have been going gray since I was 30. I have colored and such... but I am lazy, and I really hate maintineance type stuff...so I don't anymore, I have so much now that it just looks weird, cause it never really covers it. And DH doesn't mind, and I don't sit around looking at it in the mirror, so I tend to ignore it, and don't really care. I did cut it short about a year ago and I love it, so easy. Now DH on the other hand...likes it long..but the way I look at it is he doesn't have to fix it, or sweat under it all summer.... Well anyway...have a great fair, and a great haircut!
