Helping Dad fill the buckets
A few of the ladies having brunch
Today, we head to my folks so the boys can shoot...sweatshirt weather! Crazy huh? We spent most of the afternoon at one of PaPa's ponds shooting sticks on the ice and watching it melt! I totally enjoyed watching the boys, soaking up the sunshine, taking pictures and wishing winter AWAY--that sounds terrible I know...I'm not wishing time away, just the weather!
Some of PaPa's cattle were not too thrilled that we were target shooting but couldn't stand to not know what was going on...this little guy was so cute...nothing sweeter than a baby calf.

I spy a bander with a band on (just in case), a red grease rag, ear muffs, binoculars, a county directory, a farm sale bill and sunglasses. PaPa's pickup seat!
I just love that song...Travis Tritt, who is one of my favorites. It is a great day, was a great day, etc. One thing about the Sunflower State, you NEVER know what to expect with the weather. I was born and raised here and still am baffled at the weather changes. Friday, I was without a jacket and it was windy but not too bad. By Friday night around 630 pm a cold front blew in and brought 40-50 mph winds....dropped the temp to the teens with a wind chill of about -6....ICK. I almost feel guilty complaining of that when poor FarmChick is freezing her feathers off with -25 or -30 degrees, excluding the wind chill....

any way, oh yea, so Sat a.m., I decide to get up early and make my guys a nice big breakfast before we go and do chores. With that accomplished, we head out bundled up like we work for NASA....I've misplaced my scarf somewhere(don't like my neck cold!) in the midst of the clearing out of the laundry room/painting project/re-organizing ordeal....so, off to find my new gloves I bought...my chore gloves were shot--can't find the new ones either. Thank goodness for my little guy...he finally found them and of course the camera.
This turned out very cool in black and white...and if I were totally computer saavy, I could show you but instead you will have to use your imagination!

I loved how ZB looked in his Blue vest beneath that beautiful blue sky!

Have a blessed week....remember...It's a Great Day to be Alive!

Sounds like a great day indeed! It is a great song! Weather is one of the crazy things we deal with too, living in East Texas! It has been cold and windy the last few days here!
Cha-chilly! It was in the upper 50's yesterday and the day before. Beautiful weather, and now it's gonna get cold again. Boo.
Enjoyed the pictures! The one of the bander reminded me of Brandon's pick up. That's where he keeps his. :P
Loved the post thanks for giving us a peek into your weekend.
I should post a picture of DH's pickup seat....but I am afraid that the state might see it. Come out and and condemn it. :)
Have a great day!

Loved the pictures! :)
Your blog is very interesting, being a ranch wife myself I can relate. I also work in a sale barn and I love my job most of the time.

Sorry, I had a couple comments on my blog that were not very nice, so I blocked it.
Looks like a great day...and a great weekend :) This weather is crazy, and I can not stand all the wind!!
Great pictures! I love your muddy boots!
Looks like a good time--and a great day to be alive...even if the windchill was -6 !!! lol It's only -7 right now (actual temp) but in the morning we are to have -45 windchills! FUN--it's so refreshing! ha
Take care and I hope you stay warm! ;)
Nothing better then just being outside with family! We all used to jump in the truck and my dad would just drive - no particular destination in mind, just the country roads!
You asked about my job, well we have sales every Tuesday. We sold around 4000 head yesterday. I went to work at 9am and got off at 6pm.
I work in the office on the buyers side, but mostly just doing whatever needs to be done, filling out shot sheets, adding tickets as they come from the block, checking out buyers, answering phones, getting coffee to the block, etc. I work with 6 other gals. I also clean the barn on Thursdays from one end to the other, it takes me about 5-6 hours.
