BOO! HISS! ICK!!

Nice pic of the ice along the fence.

This would be why the hay is soooo heavy!

CB having a blast knocking down
all the icicles on the fence! I remember
doing that very thing and loving it!

The ladies coming up for brunch...

I can't tell you how much my youngest looks
like me at that age..even now. It's amazing
how much I see myself in him...scary too!

Having a wonderful icicle

My redbud tree this a.m.

My front flower bed yesterday around
3pm

The redbud yesterday around 3pm

That's what I'm saying about this ridiculous weather we're experiencing right now. It's nearly April and what do we get? A silly snow/ice/rain/wind storm that decided to make it's way across the midwest. My boys were out of school by 1pm yesterday...it was mainly just rain/wind, then...by evening it turned into sleet and more wind/loss of power for many people, praise the LORD we have NOT lost power!! The wind was really bad last night, lots of trees and limbs down all over this area...looks like a war zone. My pine tree in the back yard still has branches laying on the ground...

Yesterday around 3pm--backyard

There's an inch of ice on everything...and this morning we left to go to do chores around 8 and it was snowy, by the time we got out to the barn...started feeding...the wind picks up Again...and proceeds to sand blast us with ice, what the heck!!??? What happened to the 5-10 inches of snow we were going to get? Not that that's any better. Poor ladies are cold and wet...snow has got to be better for the cattle than rain and a north wind at 40mph. I felt so bad for them...they quickly ate and took off for the trees! We put a few bales of hay out...which didn't work so well either...the hay is so covered in ice you can't cut the strings off...anyway, back home and so glad...planning on a nice nap, left over bowl of warm chili and apple crisp(in reverse order) and cook up some yummy potato soup and cornbread for supper.

I'm going to go listen to the sound of ice pellets hit my front windows and curl up with a nice fuzzy blanket and Pray there's a John Wayne movie on!!! Later Gators!!!!

Ugh, I know! We got off a lot easier, no ice here, just snow. It's warm enough it melted by 11 this morning. The weather people sure like to get it wrong...

Yuck! We had a blizzard last Tuesday, kids were out of school and they called off the sale, so I didn't go to work. To top it all off we started calving during all this and now they are predicting another storm again tomorrow. I'm sick of cold and snow. Thinking of you and all the ice and cold. Stay warm and cozy.

Can you believe that storm!?! I was in Texas during the whole thing...so I don't really know how bad it was, but I loved seeing your pictures! That is a LOT of ice!!!

I was totally thinking how much your boy looked like you in that picture, then scrolled down and saw that you'd written that very thing! I don't know what you looked like at his age, but WOW...he looks like his Momma!

Have a good week thawing out :)
