Couple more pics

The only shot of the John Deere I'll get this harvest...in the shed.

Ol' Sunny wanting some attention.

More Oh Hail pics

See the dents in the dirt? from the hail. no more flowers in there.

The picture of the yard doesn't show how messy it really was.

Oh Hail

Before the hail storm below...nothing prettier than a golden field!

After the hail storm..not so pretty.

Got some pics of the hail storm remains at mom and dad's...wow. If you can imagine a mulcher shooting out mulch all over the yard, etc....that's kind of how the yard looked-trashy. Driveway, etc covered in sticks and leaves. broken glass, shingles, just a stinkin mess! But thank the Good Lord, they still have a roof over their heads, no lost cattle-it could have been so much worse!
the culprit in CB's hands.

Fun Pics

I took the boys around town to take some pics tonite...against their will of course! Not the greatest I've taken, but got a few good ones. Enjoy.

Headed to help my folks tomorrow...will have pics of that later. Mom just says is looks"devastating".

Amber waves of grain...DESTROYED

Well, I just talked to my mom and they were hit hard early this a.m. with a hail storm. It has destroyed their wheat and everbody else near them. Their neighbors had most of their windows knocked out of their house. Mom and Dad have a lot of damage to their siding on the house, garage windows broken out. My mom's camper that was for sale....well, she sold it last night and they were not able to take it home with them...it's been badly damaged now---along with many other things. All the cattle are ok. The trees have all been stripped and she said "its a mess".
My aunt and uncle and cousins north of my folks were hit as well. No harvesting going to take place now...at least in a several mile radius. Keep them all in prayer....could be so much worse, but still not great. Will probably go down there later today and try to help clean up...will hopefully get some pics.

Amber Waves of Grain...

This picture is looking east from my folks house. Some of my dad's wheat. The whole drive down there last night I was thinking how lucky everyone was, the wheat didn't look too bad, whereas north and east of us got serious hail on their crops. Well, I bet it may not look the same this a.m. WOW did we get a toad-stranglin' rain last night. I was about to head home from mom and dad's and it was getting pretty dark in the west. I started out the door with my arms full of stuff--mom in tow and headed to the garage to go outside. To my surprise, the storm had already hit! So I turned around and went back inside. We had 60mph wind and a lot of rain. CB was beside himself--he thought we were having a tornado! Bless his heart, he was shaking. It finally blew over after about 30 mins. I took out for home...the storm was moving right for Wfd and I was pretty sure it was going to beat me there. I was totally bummed...the sky was so cool looking because it wasn't sundown just yet and there were some light breaks in the storm clouds, so I stop to take some pics and of course...my batteries were DEAD! AAAHHHH I always have an extra set with me...but for some reason I only had 1 battery...I must have dropped the other one in the camper(probably when I was trying to help my good friend Paula!!) anyway, no awesome pics to post, the lightning show on the way home was continous and awesome. By the time I got home, JB was out of power and had finally found a flashlight and we had no radio...he was not a happy camper. Add that to my list...a battery powered radio. Thank the good Lord that it had dropped about 30 some degrees and it was nice and cool out, opened the windows and went to bed to the sound of more hail and rain--small, but still hail.

About 2 this a.m. the power kicked back on! Bless the guys hearts that were out working in that storm last night...I heard that P's area was out of power too. I'm anxious to see the wind damage around town. It was hard to tell last night...no street lights but I could see lots of leaves and limbs down. Another short sale day for me...too darn muddy for anyone to bring any cattle to sell.

You know it's hard for me to understand....my dear friends in New Mexico are dry as a bone and we're completely saturated. It's a great reminder I guess...GOD has a plan for all of us and he knows exactly what we need and when we need it. What we see doesn't always seem right...but it is!
Well, I need to fire up the ol' washing machine and get around for the day. Headed to the barn for a short sale today---I know that these short sales don't pay the bills, but I sure do enjoy getting home at a decent time!
Have a great Wednesday!

Nothin New

I can't believe it's June! My oldest baby will be 11 on Saturday. Wow...that flew by. Had an un-eventful weekend which was really nice. Did a lot of busy work that we don't always have time to do. Got my last 2 kitchen doors painted...they need to be hung up and the new hardware put on. I'm so relieved that's done-well almost done. Get some new countertop and it will be great. Sunday night was our first night of Vacation Bible School. It was good--had lots of kids and a lot of fun with them. Last night was covered dish supper at the park for 4-H. CB did his first project talk. How to make a PB&J sandwich. He was totally put out that he had to do it and embarrassed to be in front of everyone, but he survived...all the while dad and I are chuckling!
Need to get busy...end of the month here at work and lots to do. I don't even have any fun pics to post! Bummer
