Amber waves of grain...DESTROYED

Well, I just talked to my mom and they were hit hard early this a.m. with a hail storm. It has destroyed their wheat and everbody else near them. Their neighbors had most of their windows knocked out of their house. Mom and Dad have a lot of damage to their siding on the house, garage windows broken out. My mom's camper that was for sale....well, she sold it last night and they were not able to take it home with them...it's been badly damaged now---along with many other things. All the cattle are ok. The trees have all been stripped and she said "its a mess".
My aunt and uncle and cousins north of my folks were hit as well. No harvesting going to take place now...at least in a several mile radius. Keep them all in prayer....could be so much worse, but still not great. Will probably go down there later today and try to help clean up...will hopefully get some pics.

I am so sorry. We will definately be lifting them up in prayer. I heard on the news about storms hitting Kansas and prayed for ya'll. Keep us updated.
That's good that no people or cows were hurt.

Aw Les I am so sorry. As a farmers daughter I know what they are going through about now. The loss of a crop isn't a good thing. But the most important thing is, as Countrygirl says no people or livestock was hurt.
Yall keep safe and watch those skies!
Will be praying for all of yall out there in the path of these storms.

Do you know anything about Wellington? My Uncle Gale was supposed to start cutting today and I have tried to call, but didn't get an answer. I hope that means they are in the fields. I'm sorry about your Mom and Dad's place. Everyone is in my prayers tonight.

Thanks Everyone!
Erin, Don't think anything like this hit Wellington, but will find out for sure today. I hope they are cutting. We found out that there was a tornado east of Winfield as we read the paper last night. Friends of ours...their camper was destroyed and roof damage etc. You can't even tell it was a camper, just a pile of...stuff!

Girl, I haven't even been near my computer! So sorry - we've been fretting about our wheat too! Give your mama a hug for me!
