Easy Supper

This is an easy one skillet meal.  I bought a deli chicken from Dillons for $3.63, it was marked down because the deli was about to close for the day.  Onion(we eat onion in everything) and 2 cups of brown rice I had cooked up earlier.  Put a little EVOO in the skillet, throw in the rice, onion, chop up the chicken, season with garlic powder, pepper and cajun seasoning, fry up until golden brown.
Ta Da!

My guys {love} chocolate chip cookies.
I have made many other kinds of cookies and they will eat them.
But they always say"we really love chocolate chip"
I have a lot of cookbooks.  I really enjoy reading them all.
I have tried a lot of different recipes for chocolate chip cookies.

The all time favorite comes from this cookbook.

This was a gift from a previous employer about 12 yrs ago.
Neat cookbook.

These little jewels never fail me.  They are always DELISH.  I think I could make them in my sleep!
My guys are always {happy} when they see these come out of the oven.

Sewing Project

First, I want to establish that I am NOT a seamstress.  I learned to sew in high school.  My grandma's were sewing queens.  My mom didn't sew.  When we were expecting ZB, the first born, I decided I would make a quilt, curtain and bumper pad.  With my link to the "auction" service...I picked up a old sewing machine for $10 bucks..I think(it's been a few years ago!)  I enjoy SIMPLE projects.

This is my simple project.
The mutt, Angel, really enjoys coming in of an evening.
She lays around in the living room while we are hanging out
watching tv.  She is an outside dog, but likes to be in.
I decided to make her a dog bed.

Made with stuff I already had.  Even better.
I used an old mattress pad, ZB got a new one.
Cut the elastic off, folded it into fourths.  Sewed the edges.

The denim.  It is from my $5 queen size bed skirt I purchased about 11 yrs ago.
I took the gathers out.  Cut them into even strips.  Sewed them up.
Stuffed the mattress pad inside.
Viola!
It's working out.  She is all about a soft place to lie down!

I took this tonite.  It's still snowing.  It's a little blurry
I was lazy and took it thru the kitchen window!

My evening walk

I actually got home at a decent time tonite.
About 530ish.
I changed my shoes, grabbed my camera and told
the boys I was going to the pond.  They didn't want to go.

This is at the gate to the pasture.

As I walked along...totally enjoying my walk
I saw this hedge ball and it reminded me of PacMan.
{grin}

When I got to the pond.  I saw these beautiful ducks.
The colors were gorgeous!  They soon scattered.
I wasn't quiet enough.

I thought this was a cool reflection shot.

On my way back, the sun was setting and beautiful.

Hedge row makes an interesting shot.

Miss Angel was there to greet me as I got back into the yard.

When I got to the driveway...this is what I saw.
Enjoying this beautiful weather.

Have a wonderful evening friends.

My View

Every evening
while I am cooking supper
I look out my window
and I see this
beautiful painting
created by God
I soak in the beauty
and give thanks
and look forward to the next evening.

Every morning
as I'm getting ready
to head out the door
usually in a rush
I see this gorgeous painting
Once again
I soak it in
give thanks to God
and start my day!

When was the last time that you took a look at the beauty around you?
Did you think about the Creator?
I recommend it!

p.s.  I changed my browser to firefox and I
can comment again!  No more duct tape! LOL
Thanks to everyone for suggestions!
