Today was the first day of school for my boys...I had no more dropped them off and gotten to work and it was time to pick them up again. They were out at 11:30 am. Monday is the real deal. I am ready for the routine...but NOT ready for the homework, etc. Oh well. I just got home from work, running errands and it is soooo nice to be HOME! I am in NEED of quiet and chill time. We were so darn busy at work today. I am glad we close at 1 on Fridays. It was so crazy. We are having a "Prayer Soakin" at church tonite...I can't wait to go and just have some meditation time. I'm really looking forward to it. My DH just walked in, slowly...he has somehow hurt his back---not sure on details, keep him in prayer please.
I always take 1st day and last day school pics. Here are my boys this a.m. My little man looks tired huh? He got to bed on time. But he was so nervous about today for some reason, he's been up since about 6 am stewing about his teacher, etc. It was all good when I picked him up at 11:30, anyway, he doesn't look too perky in the pics, plus they had had a big fuss before the pic. I told them they better straighten up or I would make them stand with their arms around each other for their pic...that usually gets them tickled! At my wits end with their fighting...I've been known to make them sit on the couch with their arms around each other for about 5-10 mins...after about 3-5 mins, they are giggling and being totally silly. I remember my mom doing that to my sister and I..
Well, I'm pretty sure every bed in the house needs clean sheets so I better swap out some laundry and get to it....got a Prayer Soakin to attend!!!

The picture is cute, and I cracked up at the mental picture of making them put their arms around each other. No wonder that gets a smile :) Be blessed at the prayer meeting tonight! It's such a wonderful thing to have the opportunities to let the Lord saturate every last bit of us.
Hey Les, hope stuff can slow down just a little. The first day of school was always sad - when my little ones left. I, too, take their pictures - my last one is a jr this year. Ha! The boys' pictures are so cute and I like yours too! I'll be praying for your dh and hopefully he's better soon.
My mom used to force us to hug too when we would fight. Or even if we were fighting with a friend. Must be a Kansas form of punishment. ;)
what is a prayer soakin?
My mom made us stand in front of the mirror and kiss! We are a very kissy family!
Prayer soakin' - that's great! Kelli MC - it's simply a time for the people to come together in prayer for their church, the people of the church, the community, our world leaders, etc. AKA "Prayer Meetin" - Les has all kinds of crazy terms!
I assumed that's what it was, but I'm glad Kelli asked because I was wondering, too.
