Happy Thanksgiving

I am wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I'm trying to decide which pair of jeans are going to fit the loosest! I don't guess I'll wear sweats to Thanksgiving Dinner. I've been up since about 4 am. Not by choice of course. My youngest one started in coughing, needed another dose of cough syrup and DH is snoring like a bear in a cave...just decided about 5 to quit fighting it and get up...decided to make some rolls for dinner today. Last night I made 4 pies and a sweet potato dish. I must admit, my pies are getting better! My very dear friend, Lisa, gave me a pie crust lesson a couple of years ago and I've been thinkin I'm pretty good at it since then! ha ha
They are not as pretty as hers...but each one gets a little better! 2 pumpkin, 1 pecan, 1 chocolate. Took one pumpkin to a friend of ours...he's having a lot of family over, cookin the turkey himself. I'm the only one who is excited about the sweet potato dish...None of my guys appreciate a good sweet potato. You can't go wrong with this...sweet potatoes, butter, pecans, brown sugar, need I say more? I didn't think so!

I forgot I had some Southern Pecan coffee beans in my freezer...Oh my that makes good coffee.
I would like to begin the task of putting up my Christmas tree tonite...not sure I'll get to it, but I love to put on Christmas music and decorate. I always put my stuff up on Thanksgiving night and/or the day after. A tradition in my family is to watch Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase on Thanksgiving night. I still get tickled at that movie and I've seen it a hundred times. I think my mom has it recorded and we've just always watched it.

Does anyone do the Friday after Thanksgiving shopping day? JB and I went last year for the first time...it's totally over-rated! It was ok...we weren't after anything that was on the BIG SALE, we just thought we would go. We didn't like it mainly because the stores were such a MESS....people just have no respect for anyone else's stuff. We got a lot of shopping done, but we decided we probably wouldn't do it again any time soon!

Well, I'm off to check my bread dough...have a wonderful day and enjoy all the many blessings!

Happy Thanksgiving. I, too, am up at 5 - the dog needed out. I have a pea salad, 3 pies (pecan and buttermilk), finish the deviled eggs, and clean the kitchen to finish.
I hope ya'll have the best Thanksgiving yet! God bless you and the boys!

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! I've been up at 5 or 6 all week, but do you think I could get my lazy bones up that early today? Nooo. Good thing we eat late at my in-laws. Your pies sound heavenly, I made two pumpkin pies last night and have an apple pie to make today. I LOVE sweet potatoes with all that you mentioned, but my husband isn't a big fan. Boo. I think we may try to put up the tree this weekend, or at least tomorrow. I don't get out early and do the sales, did last year and it was a big waste of my time, I think the only thing I managed to get at walmart were the cheap DVD's. I especially don't feel like fighting the crowds this year! Have a wonderful day!

Happy Thanksgiving! Looks like you got your tree up...I'm jealous! It looks great, and I can't wait to get mine up :)

Hope you had a wonderful day with family. Your pies sound delicious. I'm not a pie maker, but my Aunt Deb always makes the BEST pies (pecan, pumpkin, chocolate & butterscotch) for our Thanksgiving.

Enjoy your movie tonight!!

I have never done any shopping on Black Friday... I'm not sure I could handle all the people! :)

I never want to see food again...:( Cook it or eat it. Ha Ha..that won't last long I bet.

I have never done the Friday sale thing. Living 50 miles from Walmart I would have to leave at 4 to get there when it starts which would mean I would have to get up at 3....is there anything there that is worth that???

Very pretty tree.

Have a great day! Enjoy the decorating.

I did the Black Friday thing today. First time ever! I shall never do that again!!! However, the people at our Wal-mart were very nice, no pushing, grouching, grumping, etc. It was actually a pleasant experience but yes . . . overated!

I'm bringing new meaning to the word "stretch denim" and will need to start my own Biggest Loser contest very soon!

Enjoyed Thanksgiving, actually put together a pretty good feast! NO and I mean double NO NO sweet potatos at our house!!! I like them bout as much as cow fries and rattlesnake!

Blessings Sweet Friend!
