THANK YOU SUZEE!!!!

I must have received my Fall Swap box yesterday and just found it early this a.m. on my front porch! I felt like a little girl on Christmas morn...the anticipation was BIG! My swap partner lives in Utah. Let me back up a minute...Another blogger...Laura...organized a FALL SWAP--if you were interested...you let her know and she drew the names...etc. You were to send your partner your favorite things about Fall. No $ limit, just things you love and want to share. I had never done this so I thought it sounded fun, as I love FALL! I sent Suzee, homemade apple butter, pecan dip, mulling spices, note pads, a Fall handtowel and 3 recipes. Now in reciprocation.....this lady ROCKS! I received an awesome box of goodies! Take a look over here to the left...I almost needed a wide angle lens to get it all in!!!!smile
First thing I pulled out was the apron, made by Suzee, I love everything in the box, but I have been WANTING an apron for sometime now and hadn't purchased or made one. Thank you , thank you, thank you I absolutely LOVE IT and LOVE the colors!!!!!! I got chips and homemade salsa(family favorite of ours), brown sugar and pumpkin(necessities in my pantry), some serious smelly goodies for my house, fuzzy socks(mine are looking pretty bad), Pine nuts(only had on pesto, these look like she stepped out back and picked them--can't wait to eat them!!)and 4-5 wonderful Recipes I can't wait to try! It's funny, this was a random drawing for partners...my partner and I have many things in common and that was really neat!
This was the most fun...when I really stopped to sit down and make a list of my favorite things of Fall, it got a little lengthy! I will definitely do this again if the opportunity arises. I've met another really neat lady with a neat family and I look forward to keeping in touch. The internet is not always a good thing and I was reluctant to begin my blog...but it has been used for only good in my house and I've met several wonderful people that I would love to see in person. Who knows, maybe I will!
THANK YOU AGAIN SUZEE!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING IN MY GOODIE BOX AND CANNOT WAIT TO THROW ON MY NEW APRON AND GET TO COOKIN!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments! I am glad you liked it. I am SO loving your apple butter. I bought some apple juice yesterday to try the mulling spices with, because I LOVE cider. It was so great to meet you and to do this. You are a wonderful person with a lot of strengths. Thanks again!

What fun... this was my first swap too. I love the fabric of that apron. I bought my first apron pattern and plan on giving it a whirl soon.

I AM SOOOOOO JEALOUS! I love this idea! I want in on the next one. Who do I contact? And by the way, I love your blog. I am so happy to know so much about you & your family. I feel like we are much closer than I guess in reality we are. That is the wonderful thing about the internet. It has made the world a much smaller place.

Well how cool is that??? I think that's a dandy idea, very neat!
Oh yes, I think it would be so fun to get all of us gal's together! I know I've been blessed to get to meet a few of my blogger friends over the years (they started out as pen pals) and it's amazing how the Lord has kept us in contact all of these years. To be able to fellowship in person, and see one another's love for the Lord is just such a sweet blessing! They're truly among my bestest of friends!

Mascarpone cheese is like an in between of cream cheese and butter. It's really smooth in texture, and has a very rich taste. They say that it's 1/2 the fat of butter, but it sure doesn't seem like it! It's most typically used in Tiramisu, but I've heard several people say they used it for homemade ravioli, or sweetened it with maple syrup or other sweeteners to eat on toast and bagels in the place of cream cheese or butter (because of the supposed 1/2 the fat rule) you can use it for crepe filling, or french toast. I've even seen a lot of savory recipes for risotto and other creamy dishes (I bet it would make a good alfredo sauce!) - I don't think I'll be making it real often, but it's definitely cheaper than buying it if you're gonna make Tiramisu.

And my hiney really needs tiramisu right now. HA. :P But I'm just testing the recipe to make sure I make it right, you know...because I have a friend who is about to have a baby and I want to take her one when she has it. So....surely that validates my need for it... hehehe.

Have fun croppin' (as my Mom calls Scrapbooking) this weekend, can't wait to see the pictures!

Isn't that fun? For the first time I joined in on a Secret Santa and it's so much fun gathering items together for her! We had over 100 people participate. It's a great way to get to know someone! Scrapbookers are fun people!
