Bill Barwick(cowboy singer) on Stage 2
Our Camp on Sunday before Bluegrass, our
friends of northern KS-a/k/a
"The Yellow Canoe Camp" came and
entertained us with their fabulous music!
Our camp as we pull in from Land Rush...
Our Camp entrance at night...not a great pic
but you get the idea.
Entrance to our camp after set up is completed!
We are the "Stumble Inn Camp" There are lots
of "themed" camps at Bluegrass and you could
spend a whole day walking around and looking
at them all. It's a lot of fun to see what people
do...it's taken pretty serious actually!
Well, let me back up the the beginning of September. Here in our town we host the Walnut Valley Festival--a/k/a "Bluegrass" if your a local, this was the 38th year. We(JB and I) have just completed our 13th Bluegrass Festival and let me tell ya...it's somethin. I LOVE IT! If you love music...you would love this. There are soooooo many talented people that you can hear, most of them not famous and maybe never will be, many are famous and many will be famous some day. It's a weekend of camping, socializing, good food, singing, playing music, listening to music and meeting new friends. So. To get your prime camping spot they have a "LAND RUSH" a week before the festival begins and it's quite the ordeal. At this point, JB is having quite a bit of pain with his back and not moving around well...we take off to the fairgrounds the morning of Land Rush to get all ready to go...he is just progressively getting worse the longer we're there...it's about 6 am and the Rush begins at 7am...I get the camper hooked up and I end up having to pull the camper in Land Rush while DH is sitting uncomfortably in the passenger seat giving orders.....I just wanted to ride along and take pics...oh no, let's throw Les in the drivers seat, pulling a 5th wheel for the first time with her 800 new best friends....what the heck???? It all worked out...I didn't tear up anything, take any corners too sharp and Praise the Lord...didn't have to do any fancy backing up!!! I even snuck a few pics while I was driving. All was good...got camp set up and enjoyed it the best I could while my DH was home in bed...wishing he felt like joining us.
