I've been making a few scarves for our church bazaar...keeping 1 or 2 for myself and thinking of gifting a couple. Let me know if you think they are goofy! They are super easy to make and not too expensive! Forgot to rotate the picture..but you get the idea!
These are just some dish cloths...they are my favorite to use.
Some chow-chow I'm cookin up to can.

Oh.......those are very pretty scarves! Very pretty! I like to use those dish cloths too. How do you make them? Do you use regular yarn or cotton thread? The chow chow looks scrumptious!
Yes, pretty scarves! You did a great job. I like the multi-colored one on top, it looks so fun! I think that's an excellent idea for a gift, hand made things that are wearable are great. Just don't go gettin' any ideas to knit panties and I'm sure the recipients will be more than happy. ;) The chow chow looks vury vury yummy. Do you make yours hot or more on the pickled side? We like ours sweet n' sourish and I use it instead of relish in chicken salad. Mmmm!
Those scarves look so soft!! I love them. I started one a few winters ago, but never finished it!
They'll be great for cold days :) Happy knitting!
You, my friend, are multi-talented! You knit, you cook, you sing! Wow! What a treasure I have!
They look great - I hope one of them has my name on it! hahaha
Les, would you pleasezzzzz come to NM and teach me how to knit, or crochet whatever you are doing? I have tried and tried and I can't and I want to soooooo bad!
My Mamaw used to make chow-chow, and I have made it using her recipe which was a sour/sweet kind. I love it on pinto beans, yum!

I need to clarify...I Crochet these scarves, etc...I probably couldn't even hold onto knitting needles! I think it looks complicated and never learned. I learned to crochet when I was just a kid. I do enjoy it...kind of a mindless relaxation but yet busywork. Ranchwife I would love to teach you to crochet...in trade, you could give me a couple of biscuit makin lessons!!! I've been to NM one time--about 15 yrs ago, went snow-skiing at Red River...had a great time in the beautiful country/mountains. I have a cousin in Santa Fe...
My chow chow is on the Hot/Sweet side. This has been made in our family for years. We all LOVE IT! I never buy relish because we just use this for everything. It's an all time fav in our chili and ham & beans.
P. You pick the color and I'll have one for you!!!
CountryGirl..
I use that Lion Brand Homespun yarn, machine washable/dryable. It's really soft and I love the feel of it. I would love to make a nice big blanket for my bed...but probably not going to happen..at least anytime soon!
Okay - you said so - rust, yellow, orange, brown, red! Anything - I just love them! And you too!
Les,
Wow! We tried the ravioli stew and it was a big hit! Thanks! I made rolls to go with it.
If you could, I would like your pattern for the dish cloths? I can crochet - thanks to my Gramma's. I paid for several Christmas's with crocheted stuff.
Hey could you would you share the recipe for the chow chow, pleaseeeee
