The Bike Ride

Well, in about 30 mins I'm off with my youngest son's school for a "bike trip". We ride about
3 1/2 miles one way to a home, play in the creek, goof off for the afternoon before we head home. This is a 3/4 grade trip only. It should be fun...provided the predicted thunder-boomers hold off until late this afternoon or evening. I have my new camera to take along with me...of course there is a story about my new camera.

Once upon a time there was a lady that wanted a new fancy camera, so she worked and saved her extra money until she could buy one. Then she ordered the "perfect"camera---it came a few days later and she was sooooo excited! She opened the box with great excitement and pulled out the new beauty---with visions of beautiful pictures dancing in her head! She went to her backyard and immediately started clicking pictures of anything and everything....it was really nice but...
#1 I HATED the flip-out screen on it. It just wasn't handy for me and I found I used the teeny-tiny hole to peek thru like an old style camera instead.
#2 I am not meant to have a complicated, fancy schmancy camera....It was like trying to learn another language--andI'm too old for that! ha ha
#3 I marched into the local Walmart and returned it 2 days later.
So back to the computer I went...searching and pondering another camera. I wanted a nice camera....why is that so hard? Then I remembered RanchGirl saying "mine's pretty nice and its not too complicated". So I quickly hopped over to RanchGirls blog to find out what exactly it was she had...A Nikon....after researching it...I thought it would be a good fit for me. So, back to the computer I went...ordered it...rec'd it on Wednesday and have used it a little since...planning on using it a lot today...it is by far much easier to operate. Haven't had a lot of time to read up on it..or even play with it much. Life for us has been too busy!
We shall see if our little lady in the story is happy ever after with her camera.....by this evening.

Our exchange student we had(I was already out of the house) from Denmark is coming to visit next week! She is coming back to KS for her class reunion from my High School! SSSOOOOOO excited to see her...oldest son was a baby last time we saw her...he'll be 12 in a few weeks. Will be a really quick trip for her...but will be so nice!

We're hoping to be at the lake for Memorial Weekend. Trying out our new boat, making the first run of the summer...and just RELAXING! I do hope it warms up some...if not...I'm not opposed to wearing my sweats, sweatshirt and curling up in a lawn chair with a good book! My boys won't be too excited about it...but they can fish!

Seems like there is so much more I wanted to post about...but. Once again, time is running short as well as my memory! ha ha We are headed to our neighbors house this evening for the annual "taco feed". They make homemade tacos...we all bring covered dishes and it's so much fun to get to visit...we live in a great little cul-de-sac and have wonderful neighbors---what a blessing it is. Makes living in town a bit more enjoyable!

Have a wonderful weekend...I plan to have lots of fun pics to post from today. The pics in the previous post were taken with the Canon that was sent back. I LOVE geraniums...the orange ones are in my little chicken waterer I bought a while back. My poor flowers need some sunshine! As well as my garden.

Later Gators...gotta run!

Oh, don't ya just hate it when you save your money and buy something that just isn't all that dreamy??? Glad you found one you liked. Jenn likes that P80 pretty well, from what she's told me, so hopefully you'll enjoy it too!

BTW- I had a hard time reading your post because of the background. Not sure if it looks different to me because I have a Mac?? But it was near impossible to read, even with highlighting the text. Just thought I'd let ya know!
