Fun Weekend-Beautiful Sunrise

Slate Creek Lodge was the place to be.
A fun weekend of scrapbooking, visiting with old
friends, meeting new friends, accomplishing much,
and enjoying good food.

That's my table...pretty messy looking. But that's ok
I got ALOT done at my Scrapbook overnight trip.

This was the view we had while we scrapbooked.
Big Pond.  My boys would have loved to been
out there fishing.

A few pics of some of my finished pages.  I think I completed
20+ and was thrilled.  So much fun with great company.
We will go back.  For sure!

We got stopped by a train on our way to the
get-away.  I loved all the colors of the cars
on this train and had to get a picture!

Sunday Morning...I woke up around 645.  Got my shower,
Made some coffee and hoped I would see the sunrise.
It was kind of cloudy that day.

I was not disappointed.

At all.

I just love a beautiful sunrise.

Don't try to tell me there isn't a God.
Isn't he just the best artist?
I think so.

Another Year

Older.

I am knocking on the door.

of the big 4-0.

In many ways I feel older.
In other ways I can't believe I'm 39!

Until the last few years, my dear, sweet darlin
had convinced my boys that I was 4 years older
than him.  LOL

I had a great birthday supper last night at my folks house.
Today, I had a good birthday dinner with 2 dear friends.
Tonite, hubby and ZB aren't feeling so great.
I am needing to continue on the laundry and house cleaning.
I need to get organized for a little scrapbook
get-a-way this weekend with some friends.
I need.I need.I need.
I want. I want. I want.

What I really need to do is get on my knees and be in prayer for those
suffering from great devastation.  It is literally everywhere I look.
What I want is for everyone to know the Lord and seek his face.
Has anyone else noticed these things?  I feel so guilty at times for
not doing more to win people to God.
Before I can do that...I must look at myself.  Am I showing the light
of Jesus in my words/actions?  Do people see something about me that is different and want
whatever it is?
I know I certainly don't Shine at all times.  But I am thankful that I am a
work in progress.

From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
Psalm 113:3

Isn't this gorgeous?  Sunset on our way home from
the basketball tournament Saturday night.
We were in the Flint Hills.
Beautiful Country.

CB's Team.  He is back row, 3rd from the left.
These boys played their little hearts out!
We have been on this traveling team.  Didn't get
to make it to a lot of tournaments~which was great
for us.  There are three 4th graders and then six
5th graders.  So we are a young team.  All of our
tournaments were against 5th-6th grade teams.
We decided at the last minute to play this tournament(they had a cancellation)
haven't played in over 1 month.  We had 3 games.  First game was a blow out-we were
the ones blown out(let me say that the boys had not won a game all year)
The team we played had 4 boys as tall as me(5'6"ish ;).  CB is the tallest
on our team at 5'ish.  Second game, we play with them, it's a 1-3 point game
until about 7 mins left and we just kind of fell apart.  But played MUCH better!
3rd game, playing for 5th/6th place.  CLOSE game the whole time,
we get behind 3 points, we shoot a 3 pointer at the buzzer and tie the game!
O*V*E*R*T*I*M*E
2 minutes.
We win by 1 point!!!!
We were sooooooo EXCITED and so Proud!
Great effort and so much fun to watch!

Well, I should have posted a warning about LONG POST.
Be Blessed this week and better yet...BE a Blessing to someone!!

We had an end of season Pizza Party for the team
One of the mom's had this cake made.

We celebrated Mr Ben's 2nd bday on Sunday

Scrapbook paper I have for sale...lots of
girly-girl and pink in there.  I won't need it!

More paper for sale.  I can put it all together and sell it or by the sheet
68 sheets total for $14.00 or $.25 each

It's been a crazy month(Feb).  Lots of great things, but all busy things.  I can honestly say I'm glad February is over, but I don't like wishing time away!  So, how have ya'll been?  I've missed posting and keeping up with my blogger buddies.  I need to get moving...it's already 6:30 and I need to hit the shower for the day.

I'm leaving you with this scripture and I pray you will be encouraged by God's word and not discouraged by the world.

You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.  The grasslands of the desert overflow; the hills are clothed with gladness.  The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain;  they shout for joy and sing.  Psalm 65:11-13

Vanished

I have not.  I have been so absolutely busy I can't keep up and have NOT had time to post!

We have been wrestling, preparing and having our annual Farm Consignment Sale and taking
care of cattle.  Plus...working and trying to keep up at home.  Let me say, it's been C*R*A*Z*Y and my house has been a disaster! LOL  We are there just long enough to sleep, shower and pile up more dirty clothes.  Even though it's been busy, it's been good.  ZB is doing pretty good with wrestling, Little Brother and I are faithful to make all matches while Dad has been working alot.  We will finish this week and I must say I'm relieved.

I have pics to share and more stories to share, but for now..I must get busy.

All Alone...

And I L*O*V*E*D every minute of it.
It lasted about 4.5 hours.
It was quiet.
It was loud.
It was everything I wanted.
I took my sweet time.
I drove myself south.
I stopped at Sonic.
I got a LARGE Lemon-Berry Slush.
It was Happy Hour.
It made me happy.
I browsed.
I went to Lowe's.
I shopped.
I went.
To Hobby Lobby.
All by myself.
Yep.
I did.

That may seem like such a small thing.
But when you live in a house of ALL guys.
It's Divine.

I bought a new box, giraffe print, so I can
organize my pics to scrapbook.
I bought a new tote for my
scrapbook paper.
I have a complete addiction to paper.
I bought silk Sunflowers.
I love them.  I can't wait to get
them in a vase.
I bought that wild fabric.
My dear m-i-l is going to make me
a cover for my camera strap.
I went for the 50% off scrapbook
sticker sale and came home with
3 little packages of stickers.
It's ok.  Remember, I shopped.
{smile}

We had another big snow this past week.
No school on Wednesday
CB LOVED playing in it.

Today, it was 55 degrees and sunny
After church, we went and shot skeet.
CB is pretty good.
He loves it.

ZB is also pretty salty at skeet shoot.
He also loves it.
He went rabbit hunting too.

The fruits of our labor! lol

The awesome thrower.
Hooks up to a car battery and you are set
to rock and roll!

We've had a great weekend.  Enjoying the S*U*N and warm
temps.  So thankful for the moisture, but so HAPPY
to see the snow melt away.
Blessings this week to each one who stops by my blog.

Last Saturday

I woke up early.  As usual.
I decided to get up and study.
No, I'm not taking any classes, but I should be.
I got my coffee and got online and went straight to
Digital Photography website and started in reading about
aperture, depth of field and shutter priority.
I mean, I've had my camera nearly 9 months
and hardly gotten off of AUTO {grin}

So, more coffee, and I began to make myself some notes
Cuz that's how I roll.
Reading, writing, reading, reading, reading
and hope that I finally get it!
I decided to take my camera with me to do chores.
So I could practice. Practice. practice
I took lots of pictures, some good, some not so good
I am certainly not Great with my camera out of auto mode
but I'm learning...and I ended up with a few shots I liked.

This particular picture I liked
Why you say???
Well, because I wanted the blurred effect.
And I got it.  On purpose! {smile}

I am fairly certain I have forgotten most of what I wrote down
and supposedly learned last Saturday.  But.  I will go again
and keep practicing.
