Anyway, good time and I was NOT ready to come home. Short on time...so I posted a video...or at least I'm attempting to. I hope it works....it all looks so easy and then I attempt it...and, well.....anyway

Fun Birthday Weekend, Sheep Show & stuff

I have been wanting to share pics of our family business...I remembered to take pictures last week at the sale. My f-i-l has owned the business for 35 yrs...JB has worked there since the beginning. He started auctioneering at a young age and has followed in his dad's footsteps. We have the nicest livestock sale facilities around. I'm very proud to be a part of the Winfield Livestock Auction and proud of my family! Enjoy the pics.

My f-i-l and DH in the Auction Block during
the sale last week.

Looking into the Sale Ring--we have stadium seating
to the right and left. We re-did that about 2 yrs ago and
put in air conditioning too which is awesome about July
when it's 100 degrees out and we have 2,000 cattle!

Looking down the hall toward the sale ring--
on the left is the cafe--right side (2 doors) are
small offices for the buyers to use.

These benches were all hand-made in TX
we have several of them in the lobby.

The view of the office as you walk in the front
door of the barn. We remodeled about 1 1/2 yrs
ago...we love our new space. Much bigger and we
can see out the front door!

Saturday we had our first show...went well. My nephew got first in his class and CB got 3rd in showmanship, all 3 boys got in the top 5 in the County Class, with ZB getting Reserve! It was fun and the boys did a great job.

CB showing his lamb

The judge checking out ZB's lamb

Sunday, we did the birthday thing...after church we headed to the lake with a couple of extra boys in tow! The water was good and the boys tubed and swam and had a good time. Came home after a couple of hours and ate on that giant chocolate chip cookie, which was divine AND oh so easy. Not sure I won't be doing that ALL the time now...make one big cookie and cut it up. You're done in 1 baking session!!! Not sure why I haven't thought of it earlier!!!

Lake Dare Devils!

The 3 Amigos ready to start tubing!

The boys have gone to my folks to stay a few days...its been so quiet around here...last night I didn't even know what to do with myself! Today is sale day...need to get moving and head to the barn. We received a much needed rain last night...possibility of more today. I can't believe how dry it is around here.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Happy Birthday to You!

Fall pics....The coonskin hat is still around the house. ZB LOVED Daniel Boone and
wanted that hat for Christmas...he wore it all day and all night!

When he was little, he wore his chaps nearly every day as well...usually just a diaper,
chaps and a hat!
Losing some of our first teeth...his little face is red because he was mortified about getting
them pulled out...even though they were hanging by a thread, after it was over, it wasn't
so bad!

Oh how he loved this little firetruck my sister gave him for his first bday.
He would ride it everywhere...which wasn't very far in our little house!

That is JB's grandma holding ZB, he's about 2 weeks old there...we were celebrating her bday
she passed away last Fall at the age of 100. A very beautiful lady!

Standing in a beautiful KS wheatfield with a million dollar smile!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZANE! We Love you!

Today, my oldest baby is 12 yrs old. WOW where does the time go? When he was born, I didn't even think about him being anything but the tiny little guy he was...and he's now almost as tall as me, wearing a 10 1/2 mens shoe and just as adorable as he was the day he was born!

When he was a baby, I got a really nice 35mm camera...not digital of course. So I've had to scan in the pics I could find, so they aren't the greatest....but anyway.

In celebration we are headed to the lake after church, taking a couple of ZB's buddies and going tubing/kneeboarding/etc. I've made a giant chocolate chip cookie for the celebration(his favorite!)

It's supposed to be nice and hot today here...perfect day for the lake. This is a short post...need to get around for church. Will have birthday pics to post later, sheep show pics and our life in general! Hope all is well with you today.

Not so Wordless Wednesday!

Anyone who knows me...knows I am a talker, sometimes when I should, sometimes when I shouldn't! ha ha

A few random pics to share...

Trying to make buddies with the sheep!!
Our first show is this weekend.

Our Mutt Dog...Angel.

ZB with his BIG catch over Mem. Wknd.
We didn't have any scales, estimating about 25#
Flathead. We did filet him out, soak him good in
Lemon Juice and salt water, covered in creole seasoning
and a little butter and baked...pretty darn good!

Psalm 121

(1)I lift my eyes up to the hills-where does my help come from? (2)My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

(5)The Lord watches over you--the Lord is your shade at your right hand; (6)the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. (7)The Lord will keep you from all harm--he will watch over your life; (8)the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Wow, isn't that great? We ALL have our own full time "bodyguard" so to speak...you just need to accept him into your heart! Have a wonderful, blessed, enjoyable day and give thanks to GOD for he IS Good~

CB-part of the bike ride was playing in the creek

More playing in the creek--which he loved.

It was probably the nicest Memorial Weekends we've had around here in a looonnggg time! NO RAIN! It was great. Our household has survived another school year and all the end of the year activities...my boys are growing up way too fast for me...next year, 4th and 7th grades...whew! Had a wonderful time on the bike trip with CB....and a great time with ZB in OKC. Z's trip was actually a lot more fun than I even expected! I was really proud of the kids...they behaved well and represented our town well. It was literally a whirlwind trip...and I think I'm still whooped from all of it, but it was good. By Thursday....JB picked up the boys from their last day of school, came home for the boat and headed to the lake...the dog and I joined them for supper after I made a much needed trip the store...we were seriously lacking in the grocery area in our household....been to busy to get to the store! Went out and ate a wonderful supper that my f-i-l fixed...bbq chicken legs, fried potatoes, corn on the cob. Played some ladder golf, and when I left around 845, they were firing up a mean game of pitch! I think they said they played cards till midnight! I had to work on Friday till 1 pm...ended up leaving at noon...my mom came by...with a special friend...Trine made it from DENMARK! She looks so wonderful and it was sooooo good to see her! Even though time was very short...we made the most of it and had a blast! Gosh, there is so much to talk about...but I took lots of pics to share too! Lovin the new camera...working well for me, Thanks Ranchgirl for the info!!! Thanks to all who shared their opinions! This one is working for my lifestyle...as you'll see in some of the pics...I haven't got it all figured out! ha ha Have a Blessed Monday...I'm so thankful for my great weekend...and so thankful for the ones who give their lives to protect my freedoms. GOD BLESS THE USA!

p.s. I think I have a major problem....I can't find most of the pics I took this weekend...did I delete them on the computer? AAAAHHHHHHHH?

The Bike Ride

Well, in about 30 mins I'm off with my youngest son's school for a "bike trip". We ride about
3 1/2 miles one way to a home, play in the creek, goof off for the afternoon before we head home. This is a 3/4 grade trip only. It should be fun...provided the predicted thunder-boomers hold off until late this afternoon or evening. I have my new camera to take along with me...of course there is a story about my new camera.

Once upon a time there was a lady that wanted a new fancy camera, so she worked and saved her extra money until she could buy one. Then she ordered the "perfect"camera---it came a few days later and she was sooooo excited! She opened the box with great excitement and pulled out the new beauty---with visions of beautiful pictures dancing in her head! She went to her backyard and immediately started clicking pictures of anything and everything....it was really nice but...
#1 I HATED the flip-out screen on it. It just wasn't handy for me and I found I used the teeny-tiny hole to peek thru like an old style camera instead.
#2 I am not meant to have a complicated, fancy schmancy camera....It was like trying to learn another language--andI'm too old for that! ha ha
#3 I marched into the local Walmart and returned it 2 days later.
So back to the computer I went...searching and pondering another camera. I wanted a nice camera....why is that so hard? Then I remembered RanchGirl saying "mine's pretty nice and its not too complicated". So I quickly hopped over to RanchGirls blog to find out what exactly it was she had...A Nikon....after researching it...I thought it would be a good fit for me. So, back to the computer I went...ordered it...rec'd it on Wednesday and have used it a little since...planning on using it a lot today...it is by far much easier to operate. Haven't had a lot of time to read up on it..or even play with it much. Life for us has been too busy!
We shall see if our little lady in the story is happy ever after with her camera.....by this evening.

Our exchange student we had(I was already out of the house) from Denmark is coming to visit next week! She is coming back to KS for her class reunion from my High School! SSSOOOOOO excited to see her...oldest son was a baby last time we saw her...he'll be 12 in a few weeks. Will be a really quick trip for her...but will be so nice!

We're hoping to be at the lake for Memorial Weekend. Trying out our new boat, making the first run of the summer...and just RELAXING! I do hope it warms up some...if not...I'm not opposed to wearing my sweats, sweatshirt and curling up in a lawn chair with a good book! My boys won't be too excited about it...but they can fish!

Seems like there is so much more I wanted to post about...but. Once again, time is running short as well as my memory! ha ha We are headed to our neighbors house this evening for the annual "taco feed". They make homemade tacos...we all bring covered dishes and it's so much fun to get to visit...we live in a great little cul-de-sac and have wonderful neighbors---what a blessing it is. Makes living in town a bit more enjoyable!

Have a wonderful weekend...I plan to have lots of fun pics to post from today. The pics in the previous post were taken with the Canon that was sent back. I LOVE geraniums...the orange ones are in my little chicken waterer I bought a while back. My poor flowers need some sunshine! As well as my garden.

Later Gators...gotta run!
