Beautiful & Productive

That was my Saturday.
A great way to end the month of March.
With a sunburn of course.
Pretty strange.  We are not normally this warm this time of year.
It feels more like May.

I started off my morning(after breakfast) dragging out my potting stuff.  My sweet little seedlings I planted several weeks ago are doing good, but I thought I would graduate them to a larger pot from the egg carton.

Here they are, waiting for me to get organized.  That was a task.
Had stuff in several places~had not yet put it all in ONE spot since the move last year.

I always save my plastic pots and re-use them.  I often think.."will I NEED all of these?"
Yes.  I will and I won't question myself again.

This took several hours and by then the guys had showed up from doing chores and had the nerve to ask me..."what's for dinner?"  ha ha
I got everything back into the house to my card table.  I have my own greenhouse set up in my UNFINISHED front room that is still UNFINISHED.  But I'm not bitter.  I have always wanted a greenhouse. {grin}

I decided to get out some of my old pots and clean them up.  I had spray paint that needed to be used.

This looks so much better.  I put a little Christmas plant/tree thing in here.  Forgot to get the after/after shot.

And then......

there is this little "jewel"  or at least to me it is.
I had almost forgotten that I had this.  Another treasure from an auction where I'm certain my husband did NOT want to take my bid.  That's how it works in our house.  I love junk.  We sometimes sell junk at farm sales.  My husband auctioneers and I bid on junk and he pretends to not see me.  But...then my f-i-l saves the day and Takes my bid!  Then my husband laughs and moves on.  It's fun.

Then I get my opportunity to transform
Trash to Treasure!

See here????  I did it.  I just love this little can.  I'm not exactly sure what will become of this, but I'm thinking a vase for sunflowers, lilacs, daisies...on my kitchen table.  I'll let you know.

The butterflies were THICK at my house yesterday.  Along with bumblebees and all sorts of other flying insects.  This tree in the front of our house is blooming out something...Don't know, it was already done last year when we moved in.

Butterflies AMAZE me.  Only GOD could make something like them.

ZB was cleaning out the pickup...we hauled a lot of dirt in yesterday.

We put in this little garden shed to move a lot of our "stuff" out of the garage.  Couldn't even park in there.  We had a shed at our old house and we missed it...ALOT.
Anyway...had to put a "base" around the new shed~our lovely Mutt dog Angel has done her very Best to dig giant holes underneath...chasing critters.  So we sealed it off.  That was where I got my sunburn.

And that my friends was my Beautiful and Productive Saturday.  I slept like a baby last night.

I'm off to get around for church.  May your first Sunday in April 2012 be a great one!

I love the promise that a new garden holds in the spring! Now if we could only harness the wind and convince a little rain to fall, we might actually HAVE a garden this year. :) Such fun making old things new again! Paint is a glorious invention!
